Climate Lab is a climate innovation center based in Vienna, Austria. 

At Climate Lab, we believe in the power of collaboration. By forming innovative, cross-sectoral alliances and optimizing shared resources, we strive to accelerate Austria’s path to achieving its goals for climate neutrality and a circular economy. Our focus is on the sectors with the highest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions: energy, mobility, construction and the circular economy. Through diverse projects and events, we bring together leading companies, public institutions, start-ups, academia and civil society to initiate and accelerate innovative solutions. The challenges are great—we must collaborate like never before.

Our Approach: Breaking Down Silos

We design our projects and events to facilitate encounters, discussion and collaboration between actors from diverse sectors and industries. By breaking out of their silos, stakeholders are pushed to develop a more comprehensive understanding of their challenges and to drive innovation that has meaningful impact.

Our Projects: Innovative & Solutions-Oriented

We work with partners from the public and private sectors on multi-stakeholder projects that prioritize action and the accelerated implementation of solutions. Current projects include circularity for mattresses, textiles and furniture, green jobs, circular building materials, industrial uses for H2 and alternative energy.

Our Community: Stronger Together

We bring start-ups, companies, NGOs and other climate innovators together into a vibrant community focused on innovation, mutual support and opportunities for growth. We support our community with a sustainably designed co-working space as well as various events for networking and building knowledge.

Climate Lab opened its doors in Vienna-Spittelau in September 2022. We are powered by a growing alliance of partners, including the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund, BMLUK, Wien Energie, the Vienna Business Agency, Impact Hub Vienna, Wiener Linien, Holcim, Siemens Energy, waff and BIG.
